What's happenin? We're all stoked about the weekend comin'
up.....Friday night we're at Kingston's in Summerville(where you can
still smoke in a bar) and we're gonna rip it up like always,if not
more-Show starts at 9(good for the early party people) and goes as
long as they let us play..
Then there's Saturday night-A certain band member is turning 15 and
wants all of our friends to show up for her party. We'll be at A Dough
Re Mi in Mt. Pleasant, music starts at 9:30 and you'll wanna get there
early as the seats are gonna fill fast. When I turned 15,I hid and
didn't tell anybody for fear they would make a big deal...but ,then
,I'm not a girl!!!!!! So ,come on people ,let's make a big deal outta
this thing-she couldn't stay 14 forever, and once she has her own
wheels, she won't be easy to find-better come tell the little Diva
"happy birthday" while she's still local...
Tonight, for those who can't wait for the weekend,is Bluesday night at
A Dough Re Mi-featured artist is Lightnin Hopkins and this is gonna be
fun...Dinner at 7,jam at 8,come out and get you some blues....
Hope to see you out there(especially at Sarah's Birthday
party,Saturday Night ,October 13th at A Dough Re Mi)

This week - October 3, 2007

First off,Bluesday night at the Dough is gettin better every
week,Craig (da monstah) is an enduring man to come out and put up with
all the craziness that is an ope blues jam.Someday the Lowcountry
Blues Club will be so big,we won't even get to play two songs
each-'til then,we are your Tuesday night warriors and paying tribute
to the peiople who originated this music is pleasure and we're
thankful to have the chance to do so.Next week the featured artist is
Lightnin Hopkins so make yer plans to come out to the Dough ,Tuesday
at 7:00-that said....
What it is?Sniffles,sneezes,coughs,headaches-nothin like that will
keep us from playin the Folly Chicken this Friday night. It's been a
long time since we were at the beach and I think it's still safe to
go-now which speedo should I bring?????? Anyhoo,We're all lookin
forward to blowin away those beach bums this week,I hope you can all
make it out to meet some of our new friends and have a good time.Y'all
come!!!!!!

What a cool town and a great thing you have going, thanks again and I hope it's just as big if not bigger next year. It's not often we go to the court house with music in mind, but there's a first time for everything, right? An awesome place, great people, great music, great food-thanks again..

6/30 - July 1, 2007

Last night at the Dough was truly amazing,Craig ,Jonathan,Sarah, the crowd-everybody knew exactly what they were doin and the whole place was jumpin right up to lights out. Thanks to everybody for makin it happen like that, and special thanks to my friend, and a new friend to a bunch o' people,Roy Lee Branham, the harmonica madman.Rarely do you get to see this level of performer in a local music venue. When I say the band was on fire,Roy was the fuel in more than one instance, and really brought the place down. Thanks to Smoky for comin out, too. He played along side of Roy,and when those two harps were goin at it,man, you couldn't fit a note in!!!! Awesome playing all the way around and a fantastic night. If Roy ever makes it back to Chuck-town,I hope more people get to hear him. What a night,Thank you...

6/23 - June 24, 2007

Last night at Kingston's proved to be very entertaining.Momma and the boys were dead on and the crowd was lovin it!! Friends I haven't seen in a while were all over the room and the band played like they did in the old days.
I'm sorry to see them hang it up,but I'm sure it's for the best and when the time comes, they might even emerge for special events-I'm not saying they will, just my own thoughts on the situation.
The Accelerators will be in that room July 14,and we intend to tear it up for all those s-ville people and try to bring the spirit of the jam with us.Ten years ago,I had no nickname and everywhere I went in this town was a stage that was open to me.Now,since I'm not the kid anymore,I find bands less willing to jam and let friends sit in.Well,I won't stop the jam ,like I ever could, and luckily there are a few around town who still like to have fun and invite people up on their stage.Jeff Norwood is a new friend of mine who enjoys the jam.Smokey Weiner is another with a kind soul and a big heart. You can catch Jeff at Hometeam BBQ on 61 Thursday night and Smokey writes for the Moultrie News in Mt.P,so you can read his article and find him that way.
Music was never meant to be about money, funny how the oldest songs still carry weight while brand new one's are gone in a month. Go out and hear some blues and enjoy the only true music left in America.
See ya out there!!

Rockin the Dough - June 16, 2007

Thanks to everybody that came out Friday night-what a blast. The whole night is a blurr to me but I know it was good because I broke 2 strings and my hands are sore!!!!Craig played as hard and intense as ever,Jonathan was a wild man,and Sarah is getting so brave and bold,I don't know what to expect anymore.Jonathan is the only one not able to walk through the audience, but if he could.....
Again, thanks to everybody for such a great time,we'll be right back at the Dough on the 30th,don't forget open mic night is every Wednesday-never know what's gonna happen there!!!!
See ya out there

The Checkered Flag - June 9, 2007

Thanks to everybody who made it out last night and helped us blow the lid off the joint.Everybody in the band was on fire and the musicianship was at an all time high.If you missed last night ,ask somebody who was there and you'll know there was nothin like it anywhere else. Thanks to all our old friends and our brand new ones, what a crazy night.6 days til the next one, hope yer all there.

Seein the Legends - May 15, 2007

Last weekend at the Blues By The Sea Festival, the one and only Eddie Kirkland made an awesome showing for all of us blues lovers. He was kind and thankful and I actually got to shake his hand!!!!
As if that wasn't amazing enough,Guitar Shorty closed the show-,he's the original inspiration for Jimi ever learning to play,by handing off his guitar to the amazing and wonderous Stone Cold Sarah Cole.He put on a great show, and when Sarah started to play, the crowd got on their feet!!!! I never woulda believed he'd give up his guitar, but he sure hung it around her neck and said,"we're in C".
Next year is already funded and scheduled for 2 days instead of one, which should prove to be a fast growing fest and a must see in SC or even the southeast!!!!!
I'm tellin ya you never know who's listenin and one day,we might not have miss Cole around,so don't be puttin it off,y'all show up and see what's happenin in this crazy little town of ours.
Hope to see ya soon,

Checkered Flag - April 14, 2007

Our first show at the Checkered Flag scored us 3 more gigs, and it was a show fo real...This band is on a roll and the music gets better every week. Thanks to Drew Baldwin for stoppin in,and even playin some bass-he refused the electric guitar, but not in a mean way. He's a guitar master and doesn't need to be bothered by the stage volume and antics on stage. If ya get a chance,go check out Drew Baldwin with Juke Joint Johnny where ever they may be playing, you won't be let down and you'll see what I mean by calling Drew a guitar master. Thanks to all who came out and stuck around.Special thanks to Bill for comin all the way from Sumter-the kindness of people still amazes me-he brought with him a new guitar case to replace my ghetto case with the one red strap holding it together.I've searched for 2 years for a case to fit my guitars, but they're not made anymore. In walks Bill with a custom case, which I am assuming was free because that's how much money he would take from me when he gave it to me.Again, thanks Bill for your generosity and even without it,yer still a good friend and a great guy.
Next week is a busy one with a private party for the Duck's Unlimited crowd on Wednesday, the duo gig with Sarah and myself at Hometeam BBQ on Thursday, the Mt Pleasant Chicken Friday, and our first gig ever at the Southend Brewery in downtown Charleston on Saturday,so we'll look fer ya at every show, and it's not just our show,it's yours ,too.
Hope to see ya out there!!!

Staurday night - March 29, 2007

This week we are at the Folly Chicken and due to some scheduling conflicts,I am glad to have Jo Jo filling in the Monsta's spot for the evening. Jo Jo and I used to play on Momma's stage at Momma's Blues Palace,in fact,I learned all about the blues on that stage with Jo right there next to me,so he's like a musical brother to me.We played for almost a year together after the club closed and had some really creative nights onstage and off.It should be a very cool but rockin night o' blues. If you aren't goin to see Scott Holt at hometeam BBQ tomorrow night,go and see Jo Jo and the family in action at the map room.

Mt. P Chicken Gig - March 24, 2007

Thanks to everybody who came out to make this night so huge for us.The band has never sounded better,Jonathan and Craig were in the zone all night,Sarah played the wildest I've seen,Wyatt Gary came out to jam,and I am still hyper from all the positive energy. Thanks again for makin our shows rock, hope to see ya at the next one.

Ladies and gentlemen,hobo's and tramps,cross-eyed mosquitoes and bow-legged ants!!! - March 21, 2007

Come one ,come all to the Friday night ball!!! We just picked up a gig at the Mt. Pleasant Chicken,I know it's short notice, but if you could make it,it sho' would be fun to see ya!!!!It's on Johnnie Dodd's blved in the Stuckey furniture plaza in Mt. P,start time is about 10:30-hope to see ya there(thank you Sammy Hagar for the headline!!)

Friday Night - March 17, 2007

Thanks to everybody who made the show ,last night. We had a great time playing, and were entirely exhausted when we stopped. Thanks to Wyatt Gary for playing every instrument on the stage, and very well if I'm allowed to say so....Of course I am.Thanks to Craig the Monsta for all of the great music and puttin in the extra time onstage,Sarah Cole for playing her fingers off and jammin on every song ,no matter how long it was,and to Jonathan the "master beater"(just a joke, not his real nick name) for making the music fun again with all that brand new energy and skill. His bio will be up shortly and ,if you haven't heard him, you're missing the rebirth a this band. Our next show is March 31st,at the Folly Chicken, and ,as our shows are starting to fill up early, you may want to get there ahead of time to get a seat.We start around 10,and we promise to "bring it",whatever "it" is!!!! Thanks again for such a great show and we hope to see you at the next one,
TT & A

Friday at the Dough - March 15, 2007

For all those dropping in ,thanks for the attention. As we have been bumped at the Chicken for this Friday, our friends at A Dough Re Mi have been kind enough to arrange a place for us to play.We have the best friends in the world!!!!! So if you decide to come out to the Dough, the show starts at 8:00 p.m.,and we're gonna play as long as you stay,or 'til the band says "let's go home",and we ain't holdin nothin back.Don't miss this!!! We will be recording again,so remember to shout your own name so you can hear it later. When we get good recordings of the original songs we're doing,we'll put a live cd out-the money from the cd sales will pay for the studio cd,which will pay for our limo rides and wild, wild parties with people we don't even know-and yer all invited....
So,see ya this Friday night at the Dough,8 p.m.,and bring that need to get crazy,'cause it's time to let it loose!!!!

Changes - March 7, 2007

So,spring is almost here, and like everything else around,we're changin'.We recently changed drummers,Pete is taking some time off for a little of his own spring cleaning. In the mean time,it is my honor to welcome Jonathan to the band.He and the Monsta are long time friends,he's full of new ideas and has lotsa energy to spare. We are in rehearsal and working on new material that I must say is a slight departure from the blues, but still "roots" enough to keep the blues lovers around. So,the next time you come out to a show, say hi to Jonathan and give him a big welcomin' grin , 'cause ya never know what'll happen next.We need yer help to find him a nickname,so feel free!!!!!Hope to see ya out there,
T

February - February 12, 2007

It's a shame "Black History Month" is the shortest of the year.Even more so,if they spent some time talkin' blues. The Blues Bash is in full swing and our gig is comin' up fast. I hope everyone reading this can get out to our show ,Thursday. In my own opinion, the one I hold in highest regard,it's gonna be a great show-only trouble is,I need witnesses or nobody's gonna believe me.
If ya can't make it to our show, try to make it to at least one of the great shows in town, most of these acts aren't here all year and some of the older cats may not be here again at all.The Blues is the basis for all american music,as opposed to the old country where it all comes back to classical tunes.Since this art form is rarely broadcast,it's up to us regular people to go out and keep it alive.
I hope to see ya all out somewhere-at one of our shows or somewhere else.Don't be scared to boogie and don't forget to tip the band!!!!!Keep the Blues alive ,y'all.Ready-Set Go!!!!!

Happy Birthday Johnny Winter 2/23
